cameraation of the
26th ult. I have now the honour to inform you,
dear Sir,
that since my retirement from the service of Hongkong I have been engaged in botanical work connected with the
large number of plants, indigenous to Hongkong
which have been discovered in that island
since the "Flora Hongkongensis" was written by
the late Mr. Bentham and published (by the
Government Press) in 1861. That excellent
work contains descriptions of about 1500 plants
which were known to science at that time as
indigenous to Hongkong. My friend
